The After the Light trilogy
- Mad Max for kids -
Somewhere in the 21st Century a conflict escalates into a global thermonuclear war, which destroys the Earth's surface and exterminates 60% of humanity.
The After the Light series is set one hundred years after the war and tells the adventures of Boran, a young boy who travels with his mother in an old truck through the barren wastelands and ruined cities of what once was Europe. The books offer a series of exciting and spectacular adventures aimed at young teens. The stakes are high and the main characters often have to fend for their lives, but the stories also carry an important and very powerful message: always and everywhere real friendship will prevail.
Part I was awarded the Prize of the Flemish Youth Jury in 2005 (www.kjv.be) and was featured as Book of the Month in 2003 on the popular KidCity website (www.kidcity.be).
For its fifth anniversary, the first book got a brand new reworked edition.

After the Light III: Children of the Eagle
The concluding book of the trilogy picks up where the second book ended. But Boran and his friends also discover that nature is slowly recovering from the war and when they meet a tribe of Mojave natives who are reliving the glory days of their ancestors, they’re no longer sure if Oceania is the right place to go or even wether the legend is true.
